Leon school arrests decline as diversion use increases

Tallahassee Reports cites the sheriff’s School Resource Deputy annual report showing school arrests fell from 91 to 60 in 2025–26, while diversions increased from 276 to 761. Criminal complaints stayed nearly flat, suggesting a change in how incidents were handled rather than a comparable decline in complaints.

The question: Retrieve the underlying annual report and examine diversion eligibility, outcomes and changes in recording practices.
